Here are her top tips and a look at how she turns her car into a real home on wheels.

Traveling in a Toyota RAV4—A Choice for True Solitude Seekers
The Toyota RAV4 is a versatile and reliable companion for travel, especially when it comes to camping in the wild. With a spacious trunk, all-wheel drive, and high ground clearance, the RAV4 makes it easy to reach remote camping spots like mountain lakes, hidden beaches, and quiet forest clearings.
Erika Salazar travels in a Toyota RAV4 that has become her true home on wheels. But for the car to serve as a comfortable base for outdoor living, it needs the right setup.

Wheels&Feels Gear: Kitchen, Order, and Comfort
For her Toyota RAV4, Erika chose the Camping System (Single-Drawer). This extended camping setup includes a pull-out storage drawer, a sleeping platform, and a fully equipped kitchen module with a sink and faucet.
The key advantages of the system:
• Designed to fit the dimensions of the RAV4
• Installs with no drilling
• Easily transforms the car into a functional camper.
With a built-in sink, compact dish space, and room for a stove, Erika can cook right in the heart of nature.

5 Camping Tips from Erika Salazar
Gear alone isn’t enough to make your time outdoors truly comfortable and safe. Experience, useful habits, and small details all make a big difference. Erika shares her personal tips:
1. Prepare Meals in Advance
“Chopping, pre-cutting, and measuring out ingredients saves prep time when making meals out camping. Marinating your meat ahead of time saves time and is ready to cook when you arrive. Making completely cooked meals in advance, like pasta salads or breakfast burritos, also helps cut down cooking time. Cooked meals just require heating up.”
2. Use Microfiber Instead of Paper Towels
“Microfiber towels are light, absorbent, and quick to dry while out camping. They are also eco-friendly and not wasteful like paper towels. I love paper towels but when camping, I try to minimize what I pack to maximize my space.”
3. Hot Water Bottle and Warm Clothes in the Sleeping Bag
“On cold nights and early chilly mornings, I place a warm water bottle in my sleeping bag to help keep me warm. I also place my clothes in the sleeping bag so when I change in the morning, my clothes are warm. The clothes hack was a tip Mish shared with me.”
4. Follow the ‘Leave No Trace’ Principle
“Garbage bags and picker — leave no trace. It’s always important to be mindful of outdoor spaces and to be sure not to leave a trace. I pack a garbage bag and a trash picker stick to also pick up any other garbage I see nearby or along the way. Leave no trace.”
5. Don’t Forget Bear Safety
“Be sure to keep all scented items stored away in bear boxes or hang them in a tree a hundred yards away to avoid attracting them to your site. Always carry bear spray as it’s been proven to be the most effective way to deter a bear or mountain lion that’s getting too close.”
Through her example, Erika Salazar shows that with the right mindset, preparation, and setup, camping can be stylish, thoughtful, and inspiring.
